Neotas recognised as a Technology Leader for Third-Party Risk Management in AI in Risk & Compliance 2026
Neotas has been recognised as a Technology Leader for Third-Party Risk Management in the newly published AI in Risk & Compliance 2026 report from Parker & Lawrence Research and RegTech Analyst.
The research examines how artificial intelligence is being adopted, governed and used to create value across the risk and compliance landscape. It draws on responses from 300 senior risk and compliance professionals in financial services and 100 risk and compliance technology vendors.
Neotas is profiled for its use of AI across the third-party risk lifecycle, from onboarding and screening through to continuous monitoring and escalation.
AI is moving from experimentation into real risk workflows
Across the institutions surveyed, 65.6% of reported AI activity is already at production stage or beyond, and AI agents inform or materially influence decisions at 51% of institutions. The 300 firms forecast $703.7 million in AI spend during 2026, around 30% of risk and compliance technology budgets.
The research also identifies a significant governance challenge. 69.3% of institutions have AI deployment running ahead of their measured control environment, and the average institution holds only 4.4 of the 13 controls assessed.
Why Neotas was recognised
Michael Lawrence, Co-founder of Parker & Lawrence Research, said:
“Neotas is applying AI to the work that determines whether third-party risk processes can actually scale: resolving entities, deconflicting findings, synthesising evidence and escalating exceptions. By retaining sources, decision histories and human sign-off within the workflow, it turns AI capability into something teams can use and defend.”
That reflects a wider finding on returns. The institutions reporting the strongest results were not the biggest spenders, but the ones applying AI where it connects to existing workflows and controls.
“Our research suggests that the strongest returns from AI come when it is connected to real workflows, decisions and controls,” Lawrence said. “Neotas reflects that approach by embedding risk intelligence across onboarding, screening, assessment, monitoring and escalation, rather than treating AI as an isolated feature.”
Our view
Ian Howard, Director at Neotas, told the report:
“A raw foundation-model answer is not enough for a regulated workflow; you need citations, an audit trail, permissions and human validation around it.”
